I think Eric Clapton does a great job on the lyrics of songs that are actually his own. Especially "Tears in Heaven." That song is just too awesome everything about it owns.
Of all time though, I would say Roger Waters is the best lyricist. His music is just really crazy (as result of all the drugs he took in no doubt). |

I'm sorry, I had to comment about Conor Oberst.
Songwriter he may be, but he is in desperate need of some voice training. I listened to Landlocked Blues - it hurt my ears. |
